Swing Bed Program

Indianhead Medical Center’s Swing Bed Program provides care to patients needing short-term rehabilitation beyond their acute hospital stay or after surgery. Our program enables patients to receive additional skilled therapy to ensure a successful recovery at home.

Even if you are receiving inpatient care or have surgery planned at another hospital, you can choose to complete your recovery at Indianhead Medical Center’s Swing Bed Program. This allows you to focus on your recovery while staying closer to home, family, and friends.

Stays typically range from a few days to several weeks (up to 100 days if needed) and can accommodate a variety of conditions and needs.

A physician’s referral is required to enter the Swing Bed Program at Indianhead Medical Center. Patients currently at another hospital can request a transfer to our Swing Bed Program. Insurance benefits must be verified for eligibility.
